It means any payments made by the time their offices close on 18th May will be counted as being received on time, the 3 days clearance time is quite standard and the energy company wouldn’t contact you until those additional 3 days have passed anyway. Just noticed that it’s the 14th July, was getting confused then

Thanks, I've read that to mean they will only consider payments up to the 18th May. Literally because that's what it says.bg844 said:It means any payments made by the time their offices close on 18th May will be counted as being received on time, the 3 days clearance time is quite standard and the energy company wouldn’t contact you until those additional 3 days have passed anyway. Have they made a typo and it's meant to say July instead of May?rebel11 said:

No, the issue is the wording, 'Payments are considered until close of business: 18th May 2023' . So you have until the 18th May to pay, after that they'll do whatever etc, etc.
The email is sent 3 days after the 18th May deadline has passed. It's not clear at all.

Surely it means they've waited to see if you paid on the 18th (giving 3 days for it to clear) before contacting you?rebel11 said:

They wouldn't know if the payment had been made before the deadline otherwise.
I see what you're saying, that you couldn't possibly pay before the deadline by the time the email arrived, but I guess they must have sent another email or letter giving you that deadline previously?0 -
No they didn't. Thanks for the feedback, that's really helpful and constructive.OverlyAnxious said:
