Hi
I have been waiting for an pip tribunal hearing date for over 26 weeks, called the tribunal hearing help line told now it's over 26 weeks and they told me it would be escalated after 5 weeks it's now 33 weeks and was told its been escalated for listing but still waiting. How long do I wait. I started the mandatory September 2022 , then it was December 2022 for go to a tribunal hearing. Who can I complain to or do anything. Totally wrong

Unfortunately, there are considerable delays in a lot of areas for Tribunal hearings. The timescale they give is nothing more than a guide. We've had some members that have waited as long as 1 year for a hearing. There's nothing more you can do but wait.

It's making me more anxious and depressed just waiting, I am on a new medical trial to see if the pain in my legs will ease and be less painful by the new medication trial0

It has taken 13 months for my hearing date. Appeal lodged June 2022 and my date for hearing is 18th July - this coming Tuesday.0

I’m still waiting too, I appealed in October 2022 for my appeal. Was told 26 weeks for my area but we’re at 43 weeks now. They keep telling me there’s a back log and there’s more cases before mine. So frustrating and damaging for mental health.0

I’m also a member of this unwanted club. I’ve been waiting 34 weeks since I sent my Tribunal appeal, several weeks longer since I submitted my MR. I have also been told they will escalate it after 35 weeks as that will be 5 weeks over the average for my area. I doubt that will do much, to be honest, I’m not going to be fast-tracked over anyone else after all 🙄
I agree it’s not great for anyone’s state of mind, dealing as we all are with our illnesses/ disabilities. The fact that so many people’s conditions have worsened by the time the Tribunal takes place, but this can’t be taken into account, also seems a bit ridiculous to me.0 -
@FloridaDino it’s such a nightmare isn’t it. I went on the online chat to them this morning to tell them about this and just now I’ve looked on my online tracking and it says a hearing has been booked! It’s worth a try chatting to them online rather than waiting on the phone. He also gave me a link to make a complaint due to the timeframe.Fingers crossed you get your date soon.1

That’s fantastic news @Em1
Where can I access the live chat link? I’ve not tried that avenue yet, think it’s definitely worth a shot!0 -
Thank you!Type in appeal benefit decision on google, go on the gov website, go to submit your appeal and then scroll to the bottom and click the bit what says contact us it’s usually the top one that says web chat. They are really quick to respond. I hope it helps.1

At last I have an pip hearing after complaining to Laura Trott MP and my MP. This is not right to have to complain.1
-
Thanks for that @Em1
Have just been on the web chat, they’ve referred it for me as it’s now over the average by nearly 5 weeks. No guarantee of anything of course, but no harm either. Thanks for the heads up, really helpful 😊1 -
Well done @phil30edge, that’s great news.
Do you know it was actually the MP helping that worked, or just coincidence?
I did contact mine a little while ago, but nothing really changed except I received an email just going over the same stuff (average wait time etc)0 -
@phil30edge It isn't, but glad you have a hearing!0

@FloridaDino you’re welcome. Hopefully something comes up soon for you.0
