Appeal process help

Hello

My mandatory reconsideration returned the same decision so I'm going to appeal. Please can someone tell me what happens after I start the process online? I can't find any information about it and I don't want to click start online until I'm fully prepared.

It would be helpful to know what information I need to have available to upload etc and do I need to repeat what I've already stated in the request for a MR? I have nothing further to add as I sent a lengthy point by point letter at that stage which has been ignored.

When you appeal online it will ask you basic information as expected and also ask a question on why you are appealing the decision, you don't have to go in to major detail here other than just a few sentences. You will be asked to make an online account, this is useful so you can 'track' your appeal stage and submit further evidence online rather than post.

DWP will then have another Decision Maker review your case file and you will then be sent a 'bundle' in the post which includes a copy of everything you have sent in plus a reasoning from DWP of why they don't feel you qualify and asking the judge to dismiss the case (this is standard text so please don't worry, it can be written in a 'blunt' way). Please be aware that the deadline for DWP to respond is quite often missed and will be extended automatically.

There are lengthy waiting times at present for Tribunals to happen and if I can give you one piece of advice, do not request a hearing by way of paper. Success rates for this type of hearing is quite low.
