Hi ive just applied for esa for the first time and filled out a wca form for depression and znxiety and I was wondering how long it takes before i get the wca assessment as i remember seeing somewhere online theres a backlog.
i am also really worried as although my condition was going on for nearly a year since april 2022. after my family getting me to i only contacted my doctor this january and hes only talked to me on the phone a couple of times and has referred me to talking therapies for cbt treatment which ive nearly finished now and he has also prescribed me some tablets, so i am worried there is not a lot for him to go on and write anything supporting so i did not ask him to but just put him down and my talking therapies person on the form.
Im also worried about if its a face to face assessment and i have not got a physical condition it will be very hard for the assessor to assess my mental problems.

The waiting time could be several months, it really depends on the backlog in your area. They very rarely contact anyone for any evidence. Most assessments are by telephone, some are still face to face and video call. If it's a face to face you need then you can ask them for a telephone assessment. There's a lot of people with invisible conditions that are in the Support Group/LCWRA.0
