So I have severe nerve damage in my hands and unable to work because of it  I got a sick note on the 21st of June and uploaded it my universal account which is from the 15th may 2023 to the 15rh of august 2023 and was told health changed declared then on the 13th of July my work coach sent me a message asking if I could upload a sick note which I had already done on the 21st but I still uploaded it to save confusion.I was sent out the uc50 form which I have filled out and sent bk today but obviously do not have a decision as of yet my assement period is from the 25th of the month till the 24th of the following month and I get paid the 1st of every month can anybody tell me if I am awarded when will my payment date be Thanks🙂

I note that your fit note was backdated. Even though it was accepted at the time you reported it, it’s likely not going to be accepted when determining when the waiting period starts from. It will be from when you reported it. (21st June) 

For this reason your waiting period is likely to be June to Sept.. LCWRA would start from 25th Sept to 24th Oct and first payment will be 1st November.

Yes, the information i gave is correct. I wouldn't give incorrect information.

As i advised, although the date on the fit note was 15th May, you didn't report it until 21st June, as you stated here.

Although the fit note was accepted at the time, usually they do not allow backdating a fit note and could go from the date you actually submitted it, which was 21st June.

If you're found to have LCWRA then it will be down to a decision maker to decide when the waiting period applies from.

Just to add further if they go from the date on your fit note then your first LCWRA payment will be 1st October. Otherwise as i advised it will be 1st November.

Hey sorry for all the questions…so today I was awarded LCWRA which is today the 13th of September does that mean i will not receive any back pay my 1st sick note was from 15 may 2023 to august the 15th 2nd sick note Is from 16th of august till the 15th of October but now been awarded but it seems as though from the conversation I had on the phone my sick note is being put back to the 14th of June even though was handed in on the 20th of June

Don't worry about asking questions. From what you've said it looks like your fit note was from the 21 June, which you uploaded onto your journal (or 20th June when you handed it in?). However whichever date is decided upon either 14, 20 or 21 June, then there will be no backpay due as your payment of this LCWRA element is in the future.

You can ask for a change of circumstances advance payment while you wait for the increase to your UC. (assuming you didn't receive your first payment this month)  It's not guaranteed though so please be aware of that. Hey guys can anybody tell me about pip I had an assesment and then requested the report I notice at the back it has a question saying I think the claimant should be reviewed every year and a half and also has a tick for daily living but none for mobility it also says expect condition to last another 9 months and another where it says the problem has been present for a boy lit 3 months aswell as some negative to answers I probably answered wrong does it sound like I will get it? Just don’t understand why report would say I would review claimant in 1 year and 6 months please help me…

For your PIP then the ticks at the back of the report mean you’ve had the difficulties for at 3 months and expect them last for at least another 9 months.

In the report you will find activities and descriptors. Next to those there will be either a tick or a dot in the box. The boxes will be A, B, C, D etc etc.

you can use the PIP self test here to transfer those ticks/dots from the report into the self test. At the end it will tell you how many points (if any) are recommended. You need at least 8 points for standard or at least 12 points for Enhanced. Daily living and mobility are added separately. https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/pip-test-form

The report is a recommendation only and a decision can take anything up to 12 weeks after the report was returned.
