Appointee help

Hi all
I'm trying to help my mother apply for PIP but she has limited English skills and sometimes cannot use language to describe her thoughts and often speaks a different language and changes back to English
I think that this will pose a problem in the PIP assessments because I cannot speak on behalf of her but I can translate. I think it would be better for me to speak for her as I care for her and also can articulate what she is saying in English
Are these grounds to allow me to become her appointee? or must the subject be mentally incapable as the gov.uk site is suggesting
I appreciate all help given, thanks

DWP offer an interpreter service, when you phone to claim the telephone agent will contact these and arrange that translation. If possible, it would be handy if you was with her at that time for support.0

Hi she also cant fill in the forms or articulate very well her symptoms and often forgets things, so it would be best if I ws talking for her
and I also manage her finances
would it still be possible to be appointed0 -
If she's mentally incapable or severally disabled then you can become her appointee. You will be responsible for her whole claim, which will mean reporting changes, filling out forms, receiving her money and receiving all letters in your name. https://www.gov.uk/become-appointee-for-someone-claiming-benefitsTo arrange this you'll need to ring PIP to ask them. They will then send out a DWP representative to your mothers home to speak to you both to fill out the form.
