You're welcome. Are you privately renting your home? If so are you single and under 35? or do you live with a partner?

Sorry, i got distracted last night and forgot to reply. As you're 35 then you should already be receiving the 1 bedroom rate of LHA. Your PIP is paid separately to your UC and doesn't affect it. You will of course be owed some money for UC because of the benefit cap being removed.

It’s ok don’t worry thanks for the info it’s really helpful when trying to figure everything out. All new to me at the moment so very confusing. I read somewhere online about disability element on universal credit. Do you know if this is seperate you have to apply and then go through assessments or does claiming pip allow you to claim that too

There's no disability premiums payable when claiming UC. For the LCWRA element then a PIP award doesn't automatically entitle you to this, when under state pension age.

You will need to report a change of circumstances, then click health condition. Report it through there but you'll need to provide a fit note within 7 days of that and continue to send them without any gaps until a decision is made on your work capability assessment.

You will be referred for the WCA usually on day 29. You will then receive the UC50 form to fill in and return and an assessment is most likely. Similar to PIP but with different crtieria.

If found to have LCWRA you'll be entitled to an extra £390.06/month from the 4th month after you reported your health condition.

Hello . I contacted universal credit todsy regarding the benefit cap being lifted and any back dates payment which has been taken off me for the benefit cap . They on the helpline didn’t seem to have a clue what I was talking about. Does anyone think I may have got this information wrong?

I'm not surprised that the helpline didn't know because they are call centre staff with very little benefits knowledge. Not some where that you should go to for advice.

Has the PIP award been put into payment? If so then put a message onto your journal and tell them that you've been awarded PIP and now the benefit cap should be lifted. If it's not been put into payment then you will need to wait for that to happen first.

Put the message under the payment section and then you may get a response.

Hi, yes they responded to message in my journal but all they said is they can’t say at this stage if an underpayment is due or not

That's because your past statements need to be recalculated first to work out how much you've been paid, against what you should have been paid. You will then receive the difference between the 2. Once it's done you'll receive a letter on your journal telling you how much is owed and it will then be paid into your bank.

When the statements are recalculated they will replace your existing ones so you may want to take copies of them for future reference.

Oh okay that makes sense Thankyou . Do they usually wait until your usual Uc payment date or can it be put in anytime

Money owed is always paid separately to your usual monthly payment. Your next statement should show the benefit cap as being removed.
