Hi,
Unfortunately I’ve just been on sick leave for 10 weeks, I am on a zero hours contract and have been told that I do not accumulate any holiday entitlement for this period, I’ve looked online and everything I read says I should accumulate holiday entitlement for this period, I also had a conversation with a union rep and he agreed with me that you should accumulate holiday entitlement for this period.
any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

It makes no difference whether you're zero hour contract or not, you should still accrue annual leave. https://www.acas.org.uk/checking-holiday-entitlement

I had a conversation with payroll explaining that ACAS website states that employees on zero hour contracts should accumulate holiday entitlement when off sick, I also added that this is also confirmed on the government website, I was told no that isn’t the case, I then spoke to the HR department of the company and they told me to speak to the site manager where I work, so I then went back to my site manager and had the same conversation that I had had with Payroll and the HR department, but I am still being told no that is not the case. I’m not sure what to do now, any advice would be greatly appreciated.0
