Hi all,

Just had decision notice of appeal which was standard daily living and standard mobility. Since submitting my appeal earlier this year the council have agreed to pay for a PA to cook my meals for me because I cannot do it. The appeal awarded me only 2 points currently for the preparing and cooking activity (Can cook using an aid) Would you say I am now entitled to more points here?

If so how do I go about getting that changed?

I really appreciate any advice

No, this doesn’t automatically entitle you to more points for a higher award.

You can’t just appeal a Tribunal decision because you disagree. They would have only been able to take into consideration what your conditions were like on the day of your assessment. They would not have been able to take into consideration any worsening of condition.

If you reported changes to PIP you will be sent more forms to fill in and return with all your evidence. Another assessment is most likely as most people have them.

Once a decision is made your award could either stay the same, be increased, decreased or stop completely. Then the process starts all over again.

You should never report changes unless you fully understand the descriptors and what they mean or you get some expert advice from an agency near you.
