London ULEZ

Just heard today - that ULEZ scheme is going ahead in London - meaning that many drivers are going to have to fork out an extra £12.50 per day to drive within  the M25
There does not appear to be "free pass" for disabled drivers - even blue badge holders - instead only if your vehicle is registered as a "disabled vehicle with free road tax" - do you get to pay zero.....
Luckily, I don't live anywhere near London, but often need to go to Queens Square for check ups - my car is not registered for free road tax - and is not the lowest band of polluting - I do receive enhanced PIP Mobility (I cannot use public transport) - so am expected to pay £12.50 every visit - what will happen when I refuse to pay ?

    Probably a fine.

Not saying I agree with it just I think that's what will happen.

Out of curiosity, why don't you register your car for nil tax?

Never got round to it - it has to be done in person at the post office
and our nearest post office that does car tax is 12 miles away

Yes @Wibbles my daughter is considering selling her car as she too will be charged to use it. She is no where near central London

Another tax on motorists ?  My car is classed as clean for car tax and is £0 per annum but cars like that will still be charged the £12.50

@Wibbles if you don't pay, there will be a PCN ... £160 I've read  :o  Non payment of that ... bailiffs fees on top.  Money maker.

From September Wales are dropping all 30mph zones to 20 mph ...  6 people a year won't get knocked over but the cost to clutches will sky rocket, along with Mobile Camera revenue.
They can't give free dinners to kids over the Summer holidays, but can spend £27 million changing signs

In 2022 there were 33 million plus cars in the UK, some households have more then one car. Population of the UK approx 67 million.

How many of those cars are actually being driven at any one time?

If anyone wants to share their thoughts on ULEZ and live in either Hounslow or Greenwich, I would really appreciate you answering this survey for my University dissertation.
