Hi there ,my name is leanndar ,can someone explain to me why if UC say I do not claim ESA awaiting an assement then why do they every two weeks ESA require my sick note .an sent me note to say it is ran out if UC keep claiming I don't get it ,as I believe the UC have stopped this to reasses my claim that was not needed after welfare rights supporting me with all my claims in first place ,as the jobcentre ..an why would I need a capability work assement with sick notes in the first place ,don't get it and I'm on pip ,just strange goings on an they wander why you have to go welfare rights on the first place who set up all my claims due to confusing me in the first place

ESA is a completely different benefit to UC. It is possible to claim both New style ESA band UC at the same time but the ESA is deducted in full from any UC entitlement. If you’re claiming both together then you will require fit notes for both claims but you will only need 1 assessment. Once a decision is made it will then apply to both claims.ESA is a weekly benefit paid fortnightly. UC is a monthly benefit but can be paid twice a month.0
