What show, movie, book, song or other event has affected you so deeply that has made you:

• Want to change aspects of your life?
• Why?
• In what way?
• Have you done it?

I've been hit by a series of all the above.  I'm going to mention 2 as they are pretty plain without the context of my question:

• Musical Theatre shows seen within one week: Groundhog Day and Brokeback Mountain.
• Both are adapted from films of the same title.  I did not enjoy the comedy film of Groundhog Day the film.  But the musical was a slap around the face to say that we should not live each day as if it were yesterday and the day before.  Brokeback Mountain compounded a very similar theme and was a brilliant adaptation of the film, with only three main characters.
• Everyday I wake up thinking I must do something more with my life; there is always more to do/influence/learn
• The hardest part, Have you done it yet.......No!!!!!!! Not yet.  But perhaps you have failed when you stop at least thinking about it.

Brokeback Mountain (film and musical) makes a reference to homophobic killing of Matthew Sheppard in 1998.

But it is not about homophobia.  It is about realising that you are living one life that is not a true representation of the one you want, and that realisation coming too late.
