Hello,
I received a text from DWP saying "thanks for sending your 'how your disability effects you form...." this morning at 8am.
At 6 this evening I got the following:
Hello from Independent Assessment Services. We conduct Personal Independence Payment (PIP) assessments for the Department for Work and Pensions DWP. This is for information purposes only, to let you know that we are managing your PIP assessment. We will look at the available evidence and will contact you with an appointment if we need to have a consultation with you. You can find information about the service we provide at https://www.mypipassessment.co.uk You do not need to contact us.
Am assuming this is the company doing the assessment? I did not want to click it in case it was not legitimate.
Hope somebody could confirm this please?
I know it can vary but does anyone have a rough idea when they let you know of the next step?
Thank you.

Yes IAS do PIP assessments. The next step is likely the assessment. There's no timescales from that text i'm afraid. Some wait weeks and others wait many months.

Too much not-legitimate stuff, isn't there @sunshine23? How are you feeling about everything at the moment? Please don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything we can do to help0

Hi @L_Volunteer, you are right and with my anxiety I get extra cautious! Feeling really worried about the assessment. Thank you for checking up on me, it means a lot and helps my anxiety0

Do you know when your assessment is yet @sunshine23? I am here with you and listening to you and so is the wider Scope team. Please do let us know if there's anything else we can do to help0

Hi @L_Volunteer. I am still waiting to hear from them about when my assessment will be. Thank you and everyone for their support, it makes waiting more bearable!0

@sunshine23 I have had the same txt 4 weeks ago still no news of assessment as of yet if that’s any help my anxiety is everywhere so I know how your feeling and the wait is making me more nervous I did see online it’s ment to be 13 weeks end to end but don’t think it’s likely as I first applied in may0

@zoet1 Thank you for the reassurance. I am sorry it is also making your anxiety worse, it is horrible isn't it. Yes, from what I have read/been told it really does vary. I know it is easy to say but try and keep yourself busy if you can or do things that take your mind of it. I need to listen to my own advice too! I hope you do not have long to wait0

@sunshine23 I will update when I hear anything hopefully we won’t be waiting too long yeah I’ve been trying let hope we hear something soon0
