Is it worth me applying for Attendance Allowance?

I would like to know if it's worth me applying for Attendance Allowance. I have Pelvic Radiation Disease caused by damage to my bowels from radiotherapy. This means I'm restricted to a liquid/very soft food diet. I am on the Home Parental Nutrition (HPN) prgramme whereby to make sure I have enough nutrition my husband has to connect an intravenous feed bag (supplied by Lloyds Pharmacy on behalf of the hospital) about 4/5 time per week. The bag stays on for 12 hours overnight & my husband disconnects it in the morning. He has been trained to do this by Lloyds Pharmacy. Sometimes there are problems (say an occlusion) which requires his intervention & rarely a new bag fitted.

AA for those those of state pension age and above. Whether you're entitled will depend on how your health conditions affect you. If you need help/support/assistance for things like, washing/bathing, cooking, dressing, undressing etc etc either during the day and/or night then it maybe possible to claim the lower rate. If you need help with both day and night it will be the higher rate.
