Hello! I am Jimm, I'm a new Online Community Specialist for Scope

Hi!
As the title and my profile states, I'm Jimm. I am a new Online Community Specialist on the Community team here at Scope! I'm really excited with this new role and look forward to interacting and talking with this wonderful community.
A little about me first: I love video games and game development is a hobby of mine (whether I am good is a different question). I also have interests in science and history. Love a good chat about politics, but like most I can have quite strong opinions about it! Plenty more topics I love to read and talk about but listing them all would make this a very long introduction.
You'll see me more and more as I get settled into this role. Feel free to give me a shout or ask me any questions you might have about myself or the community!

Hi @Jimm_Scope welcome to the forum1

Welcome to the forum Jimm.1

Hello @Sandy_123 and @surfygoose!
Nice to meet you both
Is that cat in your profile picture yours Sandy? If so I have my own fluffy baby called Suki, we've only had her 3 months but she's an integral part of the family already!0 -
Hi Jimm and welcome.
Just wondering, we had a member here called RustedJimm or something like that, are you them? Only I don't know many people who spell the name with 2 "m"s.1 -
Hi @66Mustang, I am not that account! Interesting they also use Jimm with 2 M's. I wonder what the Rusted part references?
Actually, speaking of names and references, do you mind me asking what the 66 in your name means? The Mustang part is quite obvious ^^0 -
@Jimm_Scope they also state in their signature they prefer "they/them" so very coincidental! Is Jimm with 2 Ms a gender-neutral variant of Jim?
Anyway hope you enjoy your time working on the forum.
The 66 is just because "Mustang" was taken!! No particular attachment to 66 Mustangs, I like any of the first generation ones from 64-69ish, as well as the current ones.1 -
I can't say I know much about cars, if I need any information about them I know who to turn to now.
I don't know much if it's gender-neutral. It's only a name I use online, I chose it because it's a touch more "unique" than just Jim. Turns out far less unique than I thought!1 -
Hello and welcome,
The subject of your thread says you’re a specialist, I was wondering what you specialise in?1 -
Essentially, I am a Specialist regarding Online Communities. I have several years experience in managing and helping to run online communities. Of course each community is unique, so I will be spending a lot of the near future getting a feel for the community. That way I can apply my experience and knowledge in the best way possible.
I have a passion for helping people and communities in general, Scope has a special meaning to me in that I am also disabled. I have been really looking forward to starting this role and I now look forward to interacting with you all and getting to know everyone!0 -
Hi @Jimm_Scope yes it was my cat but sadly had to put him down as he got sick. Nice to read you have a kitten. I've been pondering for awhile about a new cat maybe in the future1
-
Welcome to the community! @Jimm_Scope1

Ah, I'm sorry @Sandy_123. They were such an adorable cat, looks very soft in that picture. For me and my partner a cat has been really good for both of us. She's just a joy to have, even if she does scream quite loudly for food. She's a rescue so has a touch of anxiety about food.1

Thank you @Hannah_Scope! I've already received such a nice welcome0
-
Hi @Jimm_Scope - & welcome to community. I hope you enjoy your role here & getting to know everyone. What interests do you have in science & history? Pleased to see you are another bookworm!1
-
@chiarieds When it comes to history if you name it I'm probably interested in learning about it. I think history isn't just interesting stories and facts to know it can also inform you about today's societies and cultures. Science-wise I'm very interested in programming, AI, but also more traditional science like Physics, space exploration. I realise I've just given very vague answers but in truth I find a really wide range of subjects interesting.
@woodbine Thank you for the welcome! Look forward to chatting with you all more in the times to come.
