Hi there lovely people! I’ve only just come across this online community and very pleased i am too. I am classed LCWRA but am starting voluntary work in a few weeks which I am really excited about. I have a really lovely, understanding Employment Development Officer at the Employment and Disability Service who has helped me immensely. I practice yoga daily (which I adapt to suit my needs) and am getting a little more supple now. I am also going to look into alternative therapies regarding pain management. Has any of you knowledgeable lot got any experience of this? Any advice, hints or tips about any of the above would be very much appreciated.

Hi @GlennUK - & welcome to the community. We have some resources put together about managing chronic pain, which you may find useful: https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/102784/resources-and-tips-for-those-living-with-chronic-painIt does often seem that a combination of things can help a person manage this, & yoga is one of those mentioned, with a video attached. Good to 'meet' you.

Hello there! Thanks so much for the reply and the info. I’ll have a good look at that this evening. Wow! What a friendly bunch you are. It’s only the last few years that I have faced these physical difficulties and it’s been hard admitting to myself (as well as others) that I do sometimes find it difficult to get moving. If you don’t mind I’ll recommend this website to my Employment Officer to pass on to her other clients as she sees fit.
