Hi all , after considerable worrying over my assessment I had it today. The assessor was lovely very friendly and easy to talk to . I felt that she listened to me and understood my condition well and how it affected me on a daily basis. At the end of the call she said as far as she was concerned my award should remain the same or increase and if that didn`t happen i should appeal. Hopefully she meant what she said and the report will reflect this , i just wanted to reassure others as i had heard horror stories about assessors. Has anyone else had experience like this please ? and do DWP generally agree with the assessors report ?
many thanks

Hello @Nuttymoo1966
Everyone's experience is different, but I'm very pleased to hear you had a good assessment and felt listened to. Will keep everything crossed for the outcome for you1 -
I'm glad she was friendly. However, she shouldn't have said anything to you because it's not their job to do that. The assessors do not make decisions, they make recommendations only. Now the assessment is done she will write the report and return it to DWP. From there a decision maker will look at that as well as any other evidence you sent and make a decision. This can take anything up to 12 weeks once the report is returned.1
