edited September 2023 in PIP, DLA, ADP and AA
I was awarded enhanced mobility though a tribunal 18 months after my first claim due to non epileptic seizures and ptsd plus FND and dissociative episodes. After getting zero points in initial claim then also after MR the tribunal gave me 12 points for mobility and 6 points for daily living. I was advised by my mental health nurse and other healthcare professionals to challenge the outcome as they believed I really should be awarded daily living also. So in March this year after tribunal decision welfare rights started the process on my behalf, since then my PIP mobility award has been stopped (originally was set until dec2023) and now DWP have said I need to complete and submit a claim from scratch which must be submitted by Sept 23rd but my new tribunal date is October 12th!!!! Please can anybody explain how this works I am so confused and anxious my seizures are now brutal and I don’t know who to ask for help.
Thank you in advance for any help any of you can give. Xx

Hello @cher1970don and a warm welcome to the community.

Could I ask a couple of questions to ensure I've understood your query accurately?

You initially applied for PIP and were turned down but were awarded enhanced mobility at tribunal which was due to run until December 2023. Have I got that correct?

And you have another tribunal set for October 12th, is this an upper tier tribunal? Is this what Welfare Rights are helping you with?

Did Welfare Rights tell you that it would stop your PIP?

Hi Adrian and thank you so much for replying.yes you are correct in all the above mentioned aspects, welfare rights said “your mobility award should be safe” DWP want the forms returned by Sept 23rd wich are apparently to renew the award but how can it be renewed when they have since stopped payments and said the 1st tier tribunal decision is set aside and no longer exists, meaning the nil awards for both components has been reapplied pending the new hearing on the 12th of October.. I am so very confused.

I would say that it is important to still return the renewal but I'd strongly advise you to speak to the Welfare Rights agent you were dealing with as they could help you with the renewal and tell you whether it is necessary @cher1970don. Are you still in contact with them?

I have today been advised by somebody else also to complete and return the forms, I have emailed the lady at welfare rights who is representing me in the upcoming tribunal but I have not heard back as of yet, I have found a lot of helpful examples etc whilst reading through this website so hopefully I can complete the forms with minimal stress. Thank you again for your help I have found the whole scope community an absolut blessing.
