Hi all.   I received a letter from pip although I’ve been changed to ADP.  I phoned them to be told I was due backdated money goinb back to 2019.  Anyone any idea how I’d be due ? I’m in lower rate and had 11 points.

Hello @Rickster and a warm welcome to the community.
Unfortunately we'd only be guessing as to how much you may be owed or why. It could be that they reviewed your award and have changed it.
Did the letter you receive from PIP not have any details about the amount?

Not a thing about amounts or even money.   When I phoned they said they owed money dating back to 2019.  Couldn’t give me a figure but asked if I’d like it broke down or a lump sum.  I’m guessing but it could be wide of the mark I’ve been awarded points taht the court said should be awarded back in 2019 that would take me over the 11 points I scored     Really that’s the only thing I can see it being.   Just wondered what anybody’s thoughts on here would be

Also the form was to be signed to say my bank details are as they have been

It does sound like it may be that but I wouldn't like to speculate. Hopefully you'll receive either the payment or a letter explaining the amounts and reason soon @Rickster

Thanks @Adrian_Scope for your reply.  It would be really helpful if it is gonna be the extra point backdated because I’m struggling to make ends meet these days.  Birthdays galore. Ha

Hi @Adrian_Scope I received phone call today telling em amount due and reason.  It’s back points for social support for mixing with others.   I asked if now I’m with social security Scotland on ADP should my points not now go up moving me to enhanced rate.  He said he’s not sure as they’re both different.   I don’t understand as my pip just transferred straight to adp and started as it was.  This was around March.   Do you think I should contact them and ask the question ?

You will need to contact Social Security Scotland.

It sounds to me that yours has been one of the Leap reviews, in your case looking at any points you may have originally got for the 'Engaging with other people face to face' PIP descriptor. You can read about it here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/personal-independence-payment-changes/social-support-changes-to-pip-law-from-6-april-2016
The DWP have been looking at claims where the addition of any points they now feel to be correct (following the changes to PIP law) would alter a person's award/increase it from the standard to the enhanced rate of the daily living component.
Kindly let us know how you get on with Social Security Scotland.

Hi @Adrian_Scope @poppy123456 I recieved a sum dating back from December 2019 till Jan 2023    I changed from pip to ADP on January.  I contacted them today to ask what happens as pip awarded me enhanced rate to be told he’ll send a form out can’t remember the name of it.   Fill it in with supporting evidence about extra points and they’ll look at it.   So it’s now a waiting game for ADP but as I said on phone to the advisor.  If I changed after my rate went up I’d be on enhanced so i basically should be on enhanced anyway.    I’ll keep you posted

What good news on your backpay @Rickster - thank you for letting us all know. I hope once you return the form ADP are sending that you get the enhanced rate with ADP too; it does make sense that this should happen.

Hi @Adrian_Scope received a letter from social security Scotland dated 22nd November.  They have awards me enhanced rate and will backdate payments till January whwn the switch was made.  Not sure when money will be paid into bank though. Just checked and it’s not in.  Just a waiting game now

That's excellent news @Rickster, thanks for updating us!
Seems like it's taken a while for them to process, but I'm really pleased they've now sorted it out for you. As the letter was dated a week ago, hopefully you won't be waiting too much longer for the backdated payment. If it's not in by next week it may be worth giving them a call to check it's been actioned.

I'm sorry to trouble folk but I've just recived something similar after being moved over to ADP at the start of this year i rang PIP to ask about the letter as I'm worried i may have been overpayed or done something wrong the letter from PIP simply asks for bank details and signature and says i may be owed some money due to a change in how points are allocated but when i got through to PIP the gentleman only confirmed the letter was real and made no mention of an actual backdated payment and so I'm now sitting more worried now than before tbh.

I apologise for the long rant but I'm unsure what else to do and thank you in advance as this has at least provided some clarity.
