I am so ready for my 6 year old going back to school next Tuesday he has adhd and asd I’ve had a ton of things planned for during the holidays but haven’t been able to do half of it due to his behaviour 😢 His latest trait has reached a whole new level he constantly follows me everywhere in the house can’t even go to the loo without him being right behind me his attitude has grew a million times worse he thinks he’s 16. He’s constantly up and down from 12pm onwards then up at 4am he never used to wake up during the night just the early start. I’m a single mentally disabled parent so it’s been 24hrs for the last 7 weeks. How has everyone else been coping through the holidays ?

Hey @xtrasmall78, I'm sorry you couldn't do everything you planned. I'm not a parent, unless you count having a cat, cats are much easier to deal with though. As someone with ADHD I know sometimes I can do things that irritate people, being an adult means I can look back and analyse my own actions to be better if there is an issue (at least I hope I do well at that). I imagine a 6 year old does not really have that skill in place yet. I know my parents would talk about my incessant questions when I was younger. My favourite word was apparently "Why?".
I'm going to signpost you to places that may actually be able to help. Scope has some advice pages for parents and managing their mental health here Managing mental health | Disability charity Scope UK
Scope also run a programme called Navigate for parents with disabled childre (such as neurodiverse children) which you can find more information about here Navigate: emotional support for parents | Disability charity Scope UK. This is only available in England and Wales though, so I apologise if you are not located in those 2 places. I will try to find something else for you if you're elsewhere!
I hope you find time to tick more off your summer holiday list0
