Hello All it’s a long story if anyone could help me I’ve been on tax credits for many yrs but switched last oct to universal credit I get pip higher mobility and the lower daily living… with universal credit I’ve had to have a health assessment which from oct it took till April 2023 to have my phone call. I’ve now been waiting 5 mths is anyone else waiting

That does seem rather a long time to be waiting for a decision after you've had the assessment. Timescales are usually up to about 12 weeks once the assessment report is returned.Put a message onto your journal and tell them you had your assessment on X date but haven't yet received the decision. Ask if your work coach can chase it up for you.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Thank you poppy my work coach told me to chase it up and I even rang today but they said it can take 3 to 6 mths but I’ve never heard of anyone waiting this long… if it comes back I don’t need to look for a job would I be entitled to a back payment

3-6 months for carers element? It should only take a few weeks at the most. Sometimes a decision is made very quickly. For carers element they may only backdated it if you told them you had caring duties but you can ask them.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
