PIP Renewal

Hi everyone

Hope everyone is having a good day so far, I have a quick question regarding PIP Renewals.

I got the renewal forms back in January and sent them back pretty much immediately and got the confirmation message that they have them.
My claim was due to end on 20th August but still haven’t heard anything regarding my renewal.
Wanted ask does PIP continue to be paid even though my claim was due to end on 20th of August while it’s still been reviewed?

Only contact I have had is a couple of text messages saying

“ We still have your PIP form and will be progressing your review as soon as we can. You may still need an assessment with a health professional. Your PIP will continue to be paid until we review your claim. You only need to contact us if your circumstances change.”

Would really appreciate any advice with this

Thanks

Yes your PIP will continue until a decision is made on your review. You may not get confirmation of the extended award but if you need this for anything such as blue badge etc you can ring to ask them to send confirmation that it's been extended.

    Hi!

So now I’m a bit confused, I got a text this morning saying

“ Your PIP review is complete. You should receive your decision letter in 2 weeks. Once you receive your letter, contact us if you have any questions. Do not call before you get the letter as we will not be able to tell you the decision. Please remember to contact us if your circumstances change.”

But they haven’t phoned me for more information or to arrange an assessment for my review.
    Is this normal?

Just checked the automated helpline and it says I am due a payment on the 13th of October which hopefully is a good sign, unless it just hasn’t updated yet

Hi @Luchia - the text indicates you've had a paper assessment, rather than needing one by phone. Paper assessments are comparitively rare, but obviously do happen (& they are usually a positive sign).

Phoned the automated line and it says a payment is due on 13th October but not sure if that means I got awarded again or if it hasn’t updated yet

The automated phone lines are not always correct, but hopefully you'll receive your decision letter soon which will explain your award. It's probably easier to keep an eye on your bank account rather than using the automated line.
