ESA review exemption query

Hi everyone, sorry to bother you all but I've been reading about reviews restarting for CB ESA support group.
I myself am in the CB ESA support group and have an income related top- up/ premium. However, I also have some life long incurable illnesses.
I have researched about exemption from being reviewed but the information is extremely vague. It's been nearly 10 years since I was reviewed and subsequently I've been diagnosed with more incurable diseases.
My question is, how do people know if they are exempt, I've read if that's the case then anyone who qualifies for exemption will be told on/after their next assessment.
Does anyone have any info on this ? Do you have it in writing or are you told by the assessor ? Just some clarity would be great because I feel this may(and should) apply to me.
Thanks everyone

Hi @pinkrose - this exemption came into place 29th September 2017 for some claimants with severe conditions. You can read more about it here under section 1.2 : https://researchbriefings.files.parliament.uk/documents/CBP-7820/CBP-7820.pdf but note it says, ''if a person has not undergone an assessment since September 2017, they will have to be reassessed for it to be determined whether they meet the “severe conditions” criteria for switching off future reassessments.''2

As chiarieds has already very helpfully mentioned, the review exemption came into place in 2017 and only applies to assessments after that date. The decision you get will inform you.
As always, I hope you get the outcome you're hoping for.0 -
Thankyou Jimm0
