hello there 
sorry for the post just highly stressed and ended up in a and e with terrible numbness couldn’t even walk ! The stress of applying for a MR is not helping however I read somewhere when you do the MR all your benefits get stopped ie if you were awarded living but your appealing it via MR that it stops totally under a MR that seems unfair is that incorrect information 

Thank  you for any assistance as I’m stressed to the max thank you

    I am sure someone much more knowledge will come along to help you. But no I don't believe that your current award will be stopped whilst you are doing a MR, but they will look at the whole award again. This could mean a higher award, it stays the same or could be taken away.

    I'm sorry to hear you had to go to A&E. How are you feeling now? 

    Please try not to stress. Have you thought about reaching out to Citizen's Advice for help from an advisor?

    That’s strange my mp and other people online said usually it got changed at MR and a few on here said positive stuff about it increasing after . Thank you yes I’ve seeked help from citizens advice thank you

    Thank you . I’ve sent it off and with more evidence how long does it take to hear from them . If I did it by post recorded delivery (ridiculous costs 9 pounds which I can’t even afford at this rate but I have to do MR so ensured it got there ) after this do I need to call up a week or 2 later to make sure they got it or just check it was signed for by the tracking if you have any advice what to do after the written MR has been sent ? 

    Shall I ask for the decision by call first and then in writing ? Thank you

    Hi @needempathy - it can take up to 12 weeks to get a decision on your MR. Sorry to say if you sent your MR off, it seems by recorded delivery, it's part of the mail to the DWP that's just signed for in bulk in a Royal Mail Sorting office. If you need to send anything again to the DWP, or anywhere for that matter if it's something important, just get a free Certificate of Posting from your Post Office. This proves when you sent it, & similar to Recorded Delivery also includes it's destination.
    I'd just wait until you get a decision by post.

    Also I wondered my local mp said they could write a supporting letter but do you think that will annoy them ?

    It won’t annoy them but a supporting letter from your MP is quite pointless I’m afraid to say.

    Yes this is what citizens advise said they don’t think it makes a difference . So I’ve just submitted it without MP letter because they don’t know me right is that your thinking . It’s my medical evidence which is the strongest so I’ve added more medical evidence which clearly contradicts their decisions so medical evidence is the strongest right ? Thank you for your help

    That’s correct, relevant medical evidence is the way forward. It’s not about how much you send, it’s whether or not what you send has an importance that explains how your conditions affect your day to day life. I can’t confirm what Citizens’s Advice have said, they can’t really comment on contradictions.

    And sorry I meant I felt it was clearly contradicting their writing rather when I have  factual evidence not citizens advice

    No worries, I’m glad you have found Scope and Citizens Advice helpful. Now you have sent the MR off, you can relax for a few weeks whilst they look at it (although I do know me saying this is difficult to do!)
