Hi my name is BKos and I'm new here. I have diverticulitis and wanted to hear how others deal with it, what to eat, drink, can you drink wine etc.

Hello @BKos
Welcome to the community! How are you today?
I have IBD and found that everyone is different. If you are finding ways to manage with diet, I would encourage you to ask to be referred to a dieticianThey can help support. When I was under mine, I was told to keep a diary to help track. That may be something that works for you too?

Hi @BKos, welcome to our lovely community
How are things today?
I do not have diverticulitis but I do have Crohn's, so I at least have some understanding of the pain and toilet issues you're having. It's difficult when a lot of the foods you enjoy now cause you pain and discomfort. It took me a while to figure out all my foods, with Crohn's at least there's quite some variance per person. I had to diary everything, what I ate, how I felt everyday and try to work out which food from the past 1-3 days it could have been.
I had to go on an elimination diet for some time. I'm thankful there are so many alternative products nowadays compared to a few decades ago. Lactose and gluten both happen to trigger issues with me, not sure what I'd have done 20+ years ago!0
