Advice for family member

Family member off work short term (last 2 months) due to health.
Quit last job due to stress and incompatibility with health but still wants to work and is looking for work.
I am guessing they will not qualify for "LCWRA" but would they get "LCW"?
LCW may be of benefit actually not just for finance but access to work coach to help with the search.
Not going to claim for PIP, they can do all the daily living tasks and have no mobility issues.
They are 28, male, single. Live in a 40/60 part buy part rent property. I don't expect them to get their mortgage paid but can they claim housing benefit for the 60% of the property that they pay rent on?
Any other advice?
Thank you very much in advance and let me know if any more info needed.

Hi @66Mustang - By your questions, it seems you've read about UC, so apologies if I'm giving links to something you already know. If they have a health condition/disability, then they should report this when they apply for UC. They will be sent a form UC50 to complete & return, then a Work Capability Assessment (WCA) would follow to determine if they qualify for LCW.About the housing element of UC (housing benefit can no longer be claimed in their situation) there's some info here, with links going forward: https://www.turn2us.org.uk/get-support/information-for-your-situation/universal-credit-uc-housing-costs-element/what-is-the-universal-credit-uc-housing-costs-elementA good benefits calculator can be found here: https://benefits-calculator.turn2us.org.uk/If he does have a health condition, Scope can also help, & we've had members that found the 'Support to Work' programme very helpful: https://www.scope.org.uk/employment-services/

Thank you very much @chiarieds, I will pass all of that information on. Thanks.

@66Mustang, I haven't read @chiarieds link so it probably already covers it, but I wanted to say that they should be able to claim the housing element of UC for the rent and service charge on the shared ownership property.Community Manager
