Call to confirm bank account

Hi all.
This morning I had a call to confirm my bank details and if I would be happy for any backdated money to be paid. The woman said there should be decision made by end of today, I will receive a letter within 10 days but that if any money is due to me, it will more than likely arrive before the letter.
Does this mean I’ve been accepted? Would they call to confirm bank details if it was a rejection? Also, when do they pay from, is it when they received my application form or from the phone assessment date?

I don’t want to get my hopes up but it seems pointless for them to call to confirm if they’re not planning on accepting me.
Thanks everyone x

Hi @KyrieS - & welcome to the community. They can call to check your bank details are still the same before they pay you. You have been awarded PIP, & if this is your first claim, then money is backdated to the date you first rang to start your claim. Keep checking your bank account, as, yes, money usually arrives before your decision letter!
