If I'm able to obtain one of these (for swimming) do I have to use public pools / group sessions specifically for types of illness/disability or can I go and use a private pool? How would the payment work to the pool owner?

HI @Lottie1732, it will depend on your council, but most have public pools/leisure centres that they work with for this scheme, so you'll usually have a choice of a couple to go to.0

Where I live, it was a specific leisure centre that did the scheme and you had to pay directly to the leisure centre. They had designated timings purely so that a trainer was there to assist (this was for the gym). However I think the swimming was at anytime. Unfortunately, I became very ill so could not take it up.0
