Hello
Hope you are all well?
Hope you are all well?
Just after a bit of advise
I applied for pip in march and after assessments etc they rejected it and I was 1 point away from an award. I have done mandatory reconsideration. Today I got a text saying they had tried to call me and they would call be back between 2 and half 2. They hadn’t tried to call me. They rang me and he said that it was in relation to the consideration.
I told him that I hasn’t had any calls from them and that I was feeling a bit anxious as I wasn’t prepared for it and didn’t have my paperwork to hand etc. He said it was ok and that he only needed to ask me a couple of questions.

1. Have I being detained for my mental health in the last 12 weeks/months sorry can’t remember which he asked me
2. Have I being detained by the police same timeframe
3. Lastly if I was to be successful for pip it would be a large amount of money to be backdated and how would I manage that (I said that my mum was aware that I had made a claim and if that happened she would probably take it to ensure it was used for what it’s needed for and not spent on stuff it shouldn’t (I have a habit of over spending on the kids because I feel guilty for being not always being able to do nice things with them) so therefore it’s safe to say I don’t manage my money very well most of the time.

Never applied before so this is all new to me and didn’t know what to make of these questions to be honest

Usually the question about managing a lump sum are asked when they are about to make an award. However, i can't be 100% sure whether you will be awarded, i'm just going from other threads here in the past. Please also remember that if you're awarded PIP you can spend the money on anything you want to. There's no rules on what you can and can't spend that money on because it's not actually intended for anything specific. (as such)0

Thank you for this, fingers crossed then as don’t think I could manage an appeal0
