Usually it’s in your bank 3-5 working days from when payment was made.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Hi,
My brother receives carers allowance for me but what Universal Credit doesn't tell you about is a benefit called carers element which is £185 a month. Speak to an advisor to get this in place if you haven't already done so. -

Carers element is part of Universal Credit and not everyone claims this. As it's a means tested benefit not everyone will qualify and it will depend on a persons circumstances. If someone claims carers allowance as well as UC there's no financial gain because it's just deducted in full. There are some advantages to claim it though, such as class 1 NI credits and weekly payments. Where as UC is class 3 NI credits and monthly payments.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please.
