How long from assessment to decision?

Hi all, I had my PIP assessment last Thursday, claiming due to fibro, CFS and ill mental health. How long have people who had assessments recently wait for a decision? They've gave me a time scale of 4 weeks but waiting to hear back is causing a lot of distress and anxiety.

Once the report is returned to DWP a decision can take up to 12 weeks.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
hi @GeorgiaCF97, welcome to our community I hope you're doing okay, the waiting can be very anxiety inducing can't it?
As Poppy says it can take up to 12 weeks with how processing times are just now. I know it's a long wait! Let us know what decision you get, fingers crossed for you
Edit: I've just moved this to our PIP category, even though it's already answered you can come back into this discussion to add any other questions you haveThey/Them, however they are no wrong pronouns with me so whatever you feel most comfortable with

I've just joined the forum after browsing for awhile and have seen this question asked a number of times,so will share my timeline of how it went for me.
Applied for pip on 14/7/2023
Recieved form on 26/7/2023
Sent form back 27/7/2023
Had assessment on 29/9/2023
Text message written report received 2/10/2023
Received text this morning 8.05am saying i have been awarded pip! (6 days after assessment!)
So mine has taken around 10/11 weeks from start to finish. -
Thank you for that @noman, I do wonder if we could set up some anonymous reporting system to help us understand the current timelines better!They/Them, however they are no wrong pronouns with me so whatever you feel most comfortable with

@GeorgiaCF97 hey, here's my timeline if it helps:
04/09/23 form submitted
22/09/23 telephone assessment
25/09/23 capita report received by DWP
04/10/23 outcome confirmed by text advising up to 2 weeks for decision letter to arrive explaining my reward.
I'm now waiting for my letter.
At least in my case I've found the process much smoother and quicker than I expected, essentially 1 month from application to decision.

Noman can I ask what your conditions are to get better insight as I have seen a couple of people have had a quick turnaround from assessment to decision thanks
