I'm assuming the 8 points was a total between daily living and mobility if you were refused. You need to score at least 8 points in either daily living and/or mobility for an award but both parts are added separately.

If the decision was made less than 13 months ago you can challenge that by requesting the Mandatory Reconsideration. (MR) You will need to put this in writing stating where and why you think you should have scored those points. If you're outside of the 1 month timeframe then you'll need to tell them why you didn't request it within that time.

When you filled out the form if you didn't give a couple of real world incidents of exactly what happened the last time you attempted each descriptor that applies to you then you should do that.

Adding detailed information such as where you were, what exactly happened, did anyone see it and what the consequences were.

Please make sure to include your name and NI number on everything you send.

Similar though, I had my GP confirm from his records that I could only walk less than 10 metres following a walking test in hospital as twice I fell off the damned machine.

Hi @Keeleigh99, welcome to the community!

I'm sorry to hear you didn't get the result you were hoping for with your PIP, but you're in the right place to get help and support.  Is there anything specific you need any help with?  I know you're in good hands with Poppy replying though. :)
