I'm sure some of you will remember calcotti and how much they contributed on the community with all their amazing knowledge, helping members with their benefits entitlement.
I have "known" calcotti for several years and actually learnt a lot from them over those years from posting on another forum with them. (as some of you may already know) I have so much respect for them! Such a lovely person!
We had been PMing for quite sometime and they told me that they had been struggling with their health for more than a year.
To cut a long story very short (and without going into too much detail) several weeks ago they told me that there was nothing more they could do. Due to their rapid decline in health they sadly had to stop posting on the forums they were a member of.
Now i know some members have tagged them sometimes hoping for a response. The last time i heard from them was several weeks ago and i'm hoping that no news is good news.
I just wanted to ask all of you to please send some well wishes to them because i know they would appreciate that.
I personally miss them very much and am so grateful for all their help and how much of their time they spent contributing on the community. Thank you just doesn't seem enough!
Calcotti, if you do see this please know that you're always in my thoughts!! Best wishes to you and all your family!

I've only seen calcotti posting on this forum showing absolutely great benefits knowledge, which will have helped many, many people. It's particularly sad when someone who has been so helpful, has become so unwell, & can no longer contribute as they would have liked to continue to do.I certainly read nearly all of their comments, which has helped me learn a little more. I remember they also patiently helped me when I didn't quite initially grasp a concept.I appreciate all they have done on this forum, & would add my heart felt 'thank you.' They've been in my thoughts & prayers, & will continue to be. My best wishes too.2

thankyou calcotti I hope you are okI've always been so thankful that you posted here for some advice because i truly believe that if you didn't then you wouldn't have received what was owed. You stand out in my mind because you were seriously unpaid for such a long time and i really didn't know how you managed to live on such a low amount of money.Thank you so much for returning with a new username to send your well wishes to calcotti, who i know will appreciate it, if they are reading this thread!3 -

Thank you for posting this.
Calcotti, if you are reading this, I hand on heart appreciate everything you have done for this community. I think we've all learned a thing or two from you and the way you explain things to members is outstanding. Even though it's quite annoying when a new member comments on a thread from months (if not years) ago, I still enjoy reading up on what you have advised and quite often search back on some of your posts when I need clarity on a few things.
All the best with whatever you are doing and I hope we will see you on the Scope forum again soon. I wish you and your family well and good health.5 -
Sorry to hear they have been unwell
I only had interactions with them on a couple of occasions but I could see from their messages to myself & others that they were extremely knowledgeable but also helpful. There are plenty of people who want to help, and there are plenty of knowledgeable people, but someone with both attributes is a rare find and I think Calcotti will be a great loss to the site. Hopefully like you say no news is good news and they are just focusing on their health rather than the forum.4 -
I'm sure I had some help previously.
I hope they get better soon.0 -
Sorry to hear this about Calcotti. From the messages on this thread you can feel the real impact they’ve had on others lives, what a testament to their sage advice ❤️
Wishing you well and sending lots of positive vibes your way!2 -
Thank you for letting us know @poppy123456.
@calcotti has been an integral part of the community for a number of years and their absence hasn't gone unnoticed.
I'm struggling to find the right words but members, particularly regular members, are more than just usernames, the impact we all have on one another is so very apparent, especially in this discussion.
Sending the warmest wishes and hoping for the best.4 -
Thank you for this Poppy. While this is a sad situation it does warm my heart that community members are close enough to pass on this information for the rest of us to know.
I don't think I can say it better than Adrian has, so I'll just reiterate in my own fashion. You all are more than just usernames, as someone who spends a lot of time online I know you're all wonderfully unique people. I think those that haven't really interacted with people online can struggle to understand how well you can get to know people online. I find it easier, you get to interact directly with the other persons personality, no baggage of looks or location. Or anything else that can cause bias or interfere with that close communication.
I haven't been here long, and I did not really get to interact with calcotti, but I have interacted with many in this thread and I see the words they have to say and the emotions within those words.
In times like these I try not to dwell on what is to come, but all the good and happy things that have happened, and the positive effects that have rippled from them.1 -
Thanks Poppy.
I've heard a lot about Calcotti from others in the team and there's so much respect there. So I'm sending all my love to them and theirs.1 -
