Seems like you're having problems posting as i see you've tried quite few times, it happens sometimes here. What question do you have?

Hi, sorry and thank you for your reply, I was not sure if I should post, basically , I’m my 16 year old appointee, I did his telephone assessment last week, but I’ve had no text to say about the report received? I just hope I have not let him down, he is transferring from Dla to pip, he is homeschooled, EHCP, and has no social life at all, just stays with me, I do everything for him, no preparing meals, no using aids, needs prompting on most things, also he cannot manage money,I hope this has not come across that he is lazy? The phone call was almost 2 hours long and draining, I did say he needs constant supervision, and I know his GP has been contacted, GP is really supportive, i also sent in a ton of evidence that backs this all up, he left school a couple of years ago as could not cope, so I’m hoping all will be ok, but it’s just a matter of waiting
thanks again for reply0 -
You can post here anytime and there’s always someone to advise on anything you need help with.Sometimes after an assessment the report is chosen for audit. If this happens it’s nothing to worry about, it just means they are checking the assessor was doing their job correctly. The only bad thing is that it delays the report being returned to DWP.Once it’s returned a decision can take up to 12 weeks. The DLA will continue until a decision is made. Once it’s made if successfully awarded the PIP will start about 7 weeks after the decision was made. You will then receive one final DLA payment. You will be contacted once a decision is made.0

I was worried about the assessment being so long as I’ve heard can be much shorter, the assessor was kind and thorough, and last thing she put down before assessment ended was my 16 year old needs constant supervision, as i just mentioned I was his carer and need to always be here with him when his tutors are here, as he can’t be left alone. I don’t know what we will do if he gets turned down, he really needs to get some GCSEs , he has no idea what the future could hold for him, he struggles everyday , I’m lucky if I can get him to come out the house with me once a week!0

That was a long assessment but not unusual. An assessment can last anything from 20 to 120 minutes. The length of time it takes doesn’t mean anything other than they needed quite a lot of information.0

Probably my fault, I talk too much and desperately want to be heard and get my point across0

Hi, I just wanted to update, if this helps anyone else, I requested a copy of the report.
The report was very fair, accurate and I feel I was listened too, and the evidence has been taken into account, there is only a very few minor things that would probably need to be adjusted if I had the chance but nothing that would change the report drastically.
It looks like he has scored (looking at the ticks)the same and would be the same as he already has , which would be completely fair.
Now it will just be up to the decision maker, but I feel the report has helped with the stress of it all.0 -
Thanks for sharing @Busybee17, glad the report helped reduce the stress a bit.
I hope everything works out well for you and your appointee. Let us know how you get on once you've heard back0 -
Thank you, I am the appointee, I’m my son mother, I’m just so glad I can be his voice
