some are saying heating is going down, yes it has in some cases, but I still don't know how I'm gonna stay warm this winter. I have applied for warm home discount but you don't tend to get that until maybe Feb or march and that's no good to me I need the help NOW. I stay in bed as long as possible because it's warmer, I get up and dressed quickly, do my jobs - to warm me up - then I'm wearing extra layer all day to stay warm as I can't afford the gas and electric to keep the home warm enough all day. I wrap in blankets, and wear a hooded fleece, thick bed socks too. I will go without food all day so I can put the money on the gas and electric. But that's not helpful either.
That's my rant and rave over. Thank you.

Scope have a Disabilty Energy Support, which you can contact. Details here. https://www.scope.org.uk/disability-energy-support/For the Warm home discount, rules changed last year for those living in either England or Wales and you do not have to apply anymore. If entitled to it, then you will automatically receive it. https://www.gov.uk/the-warm-home-discount-scheme/low-income-England-WalesOnly those living in Scotland need to apply as the rules didn't change up there.

Hello @katseyes72, sorry to hear about your struggles with the cold.
As Poppy mentioned above, it's well worth getting in touch with Scope's Disability Energy Support team to see if they have any advice or support. They have telephone appointments available and are also reachable by email if you find that easier.
I hope you're coping okay today0 -
