Hi everyone, new on here. I’ve just recieved this letter on my journal from the decision maker after asking for my sons disabled child element to be backdated to April 18th 2023. What does this mean? There’s no dates or a payment amount or anything to suggest it will be backdated? Any help would be appreciated thanks!

It’s means that they are allowing the disabled child element to be backdated to April. It means you will be owed money from the assessment period in which the changes took place.
Before they can pay what is owed they need to recalculate your past statements. This will tell them what you’ve already received against what you should have received. You will then be owed the difference between the 2. Once this is done you’ll receive a letter on your journal telling you how much is owed and it will be paid into your bank. You may want to take copies of your existing statements because the new ones will replace them.0 -
@poppy123456 aww fab! That makes sense. Is there a timescale for this or can it take a while?0

Very often it can take quite a few weeks. If you don't hear anything within the next couple of weeks give them a nudge by putting a message on your journal under the payment section and ask about the money they owe you.

Hi @emma010601 welcome to the community! Looks like Poppy has offered some good advice so far.
Just so you know, I have removed your full name from the letter you posted above as per our house rules.
Hope you get your payments sorted soon0
