LCWRA payment

Hello,
I’m confused regarding the LCWRA element and whether or not i’ll be receiving any extra payment.
I submitted a fit note on the 24th April 2023. My work capability assessment was on the 20th June 2023 and I received a decision letter stating that I had LCWRA on the 11th July 2023.
My universal credit payments are on the 24th each month. I have not yet received any letter telling me whether I am entitled to LCWRA payment or any extra payment. Is this normal?

There’s a full 3 month assessment period waiting time starting from when you first reported your health condition. Providing you sent a fit note within 7 days of that and continued to send them without any gaps until a decision was made on the WCA.
Based on the information you gave your waiting period will be May/June, June/July, July/Aug… LCWRA starts from assessment period 18th Aug to 17th Sept and first payment should have been 24th Sept. It increases your maximum UC entitlement by £390.06/month.My advice assumes you’re not claiming UC with a partner that already receives the LCWRA element on your claim. If you’re not claiming with a partner that doesn’t already receive this element on your claim, are you 100% sure the decision was LCWRA and not just Limited Capability for Work? Thank you for your reply. The decision was definitely LCWRA and i’m not claiming with a partner.
My fit note expired 2nd June 2023. Given my WCA wasn’t until the 20th June 2023 and decision not until 11th July 2023- I am guessing this is why I haven’t received payment?

Was there any reason why you stopped sending the fit notes? If you reported your health condition through your journal then you should have been receiving reminders that another fit note was needed once the last one expired.Your first payment is likely to be November now.0 -

Given the gap in fit notes does this mean the waiting period would have commenced from the date the LCWRA decision was made? I understand I probably will not receive backpay due to the gap in fit notes.0 -
Hmm i thought i replied to this before i went to bed last night. I must have been more tired than i thought. If the decision wasn't made until 11th July then they should start the waiting period from the first full assessment period after that. Therefore your waiting period will be July/August, August/Sept, Sept/Oct.. LCWRA starts from assessment period 18th Oct to 17th Novemeber and first payment will be 24th November. You can put a message onto your journal under the payment section and ask if they will start the waiting period from your first fit note, if you provide a fit note backdated from the date the last one expired.Explain to them why you didn't continue to send them until a decision was made. It will be down to a decision maker to decide when to start it from. They don't usually send a letter telling you when it sytarts from. Usually they just include the LCWRA element when it's due to be paid from. Then any money owed will be paid separately.1
