I have recently moved out of my sheltered housing flat because I have bed bugs the sheltered housing said in a letter to me that I may be aware of the bed bug and cockroach sittuation in my block and to contact them if I noticed them well I had been being bitten for a couple of weeks so I contacted them and they arranged for pest control to come out and lay traps in my flat I had my flat treated 3 times and tthey then deemed it clear and it wasent and because of my nerves and mental health sittuation I could not stay in the flat and keep getting bitten I bagged everything up and washed stuff on high temperature and it hasent helped I am now staying with my mum because I refuse to get bitten the sheltered housing have said that the pest control won’t deal with my flat now because I’m not staying in it and if I don’t move back in my property they will evict me I had already applied to sheltered housing for a move to a different sheltered housing and now they are saying the pest control wont deal with me if I’m not staying in my flat to draw the bed bugs out. The whole block were I live has them they told me that myself now there saying I put myself at risk for not getting my application seen to and risk eviction if I don’t go back there I just can’t stay there I’ve been bitten to hell and back the last time pest control came out to me they deemed the flat clear but they are still there I’ve been.bittenagainsince but there saying they won’t treat my flat because I’m not living in it for the bugs to be drawn out I’m in a right mess now and don’t no what I can do please help

Hello @blondie1959
I am so sorry that you have to deal with that and that they are being so unreasonable about you having to stay there to get it sorted! I would encourage you to reach out to your Local MP for support.
I also saw you have contacted sheltered housing, was that Shelter UK? If not, I would speak to them for support too.0 -
I have spoken to sheltered housing but they said I have to move back there or put myself in danger of eviction0

Do they have clear procedures on whether a property is suitable? You surely can't be expected to move back into a location they know is having an infestation problem. I find it highly surprising that pest control would refuse to deal with an issue just because nobody is living there. Surely it makes their job easier if someone isn't living there at the time?
Have you asked for or looked at any public procedures/what your contract says if there is one.0
