Hi All
I'm currently waiting for a appointment to see a specialist to confirm suspected chronic fatigue syndrome.
I work full time (from home) and I'm struggling at the moment to manage.
Some days I feel like I'm making it up and other days I try to get used to this new way of being.
I've had symptoms for over a year but other things have had to be ruled out first.
I have a meeting with occupational health through work next week so hopefully that will help.
I'm worried about losing my job - they've been supportive so far - but I feel like I'm unreliable which isn't helping my mental health. (I've struggled with depression for over 15 years)
Thanks for letting me ramble

Hello @Crochet_Fairy9
welcome to the community!
It's so difficult when your condition fluctuates a lot, I feel you on that one! Some days I feel like I'm making a lot of fuss about nothing, but it's all about the whole picture.
It's good to read your work are being supportive so far. I hope the occupational health meeting is helpful!
What kind of things do you like to crochet? I have a neighbour that makes all sorts of amazing creations, but I've never given it a go myself.2 -
Ada said:Hello @Crochet_Fairy9 it’s a warm welcome from me. I am truly sorry your suffering and send you love.
I’ve lived with CFS for years. ( among other demons). I completely understand how difficult it makes life. There are still many folk who chose not to believe our suffering and that can be difficult in itself. Stay strong I also have mental illnesses. And the battle is daily. But you will find many friendships on here to give you strength.
God Bless. Sending hugs 🤗
Thank you for your kind words. It is definitely an uphill battle trying to explain to my family what is going on but my husband is understanding which helps a lot. Hope you are ok - hugs back to you1 -

Thank you so muchI have to remind myself that it is definitely a continuous situation and not based on a couple of days.
I've been crocheting a lot of baby blankets for friends and I also make stuffed animals. I love anything that can made with colourful wool! What kind of things does your neighbour make?0 -
That sounds so sweet @Crochet_Fairy9! My neighbour makes clothes, blankets and other little bits and pieces. She makes loads of festival-style crop tops too, the ones that look almost like a butterfly. Not something I'd ever have the occasion or courage to wear but I can admire them from afar!
Crochet always looks so intricate to me, I'm not sure I'd have the skill! I do have a coaster crochet kit somewhere, so perhaps I'll give that a go some day soon.
@Ada sorry you're not able to do your doggy jumpers any more, but I'm sure you made a really big difference for them and they will have appreciated it so much. Podcasts are a nice way to waste time, too.1
