I'm not sure how to go about asking this question. I just wondered if anyone here may have IBD like me and know anything about how to get a letter signed or stamped by a gastro specialist or gp to say a person has to make frequent trips to the toilet therefore using more water than a person would who doesn't have Toilet troubles . Thank you.

The best place to start is the water company.
What they can do is look at your usage and figure out the cheapest tariff- my household in the past was on a special medical tariff, but as already low users it turned out that standard tariff was actually cheaper.
Should a medical tariff be best the water company can tell you exactly what information you need.
You can then choose to ask GP or Specialist for a letter containing this information.
Do be aware as non NHS work there may be a charge for such a letter (my GP surgery charges £26 for private letters).
Say something like, due to my IBD I'm using increasing amounts of water for toilet flushing/laundry/bathing. Water company offer a special medical tariff that will save me money and worry.
I need the following written information from you to give to them.0 -

Strawberry,
If you're a Thames Water customer, they offer two ways of reducing the bill - apply by telephone or online
WaterSure is for people on benefits who need to use extra water for medical reasons
WaterHelp is for people on a low income or benefits - 50% reduction of bill plus 50% reduction of any arrears

Despite using a lot more water than an average person, my metered water bills were still cheaper than if I'd moved onto the medical tariff.
It's definitely worth comparing the two, instead of just assuming the specialised tariff will be cheaper.0 -
Thanks @OverlyAnxious , your input is really appreciated. Thank you again.0
