I don't want to scare monger anyone, but what are your thoughts on this latest news? https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/cost-of-living/dwp-start-cutting-universal-credit-27999773 The Tories seem to do what they want without a general consensus from the public and it seems to be very hidden unless someone else has written about it on the forum. An hour appointment with a doctor who knows nothing about you and your daily struggles, yep that works......not!  Bullies the whole lot of them.

If I was in a good mood I would say maybe this is the Tories trying to work out how to approach a universal benefit set up, however I'm not and they are not, it looks like they are now decided they are going into opposition for a decade and want to leave a "legacy" behind them.
Seasons greetings to one and all 🎄🎅🏻🌲

This is actually terrifying but not suprising that they are expanding the pilot despite still consulting on the changes

Cant believe a word they say as they change the rules, change the dates, do what they like without consulting those they are harming, anytime, anywhere, and without notice.
    Very worrying news.

'People will be encouraged to deal with health related obstacles' it says.
So an hour long chat with a dr who's working with the dwp, knows nothing about you and that's sorted.

With all respect, the source you quote is a trash hole. I have seen that source coming up on google search with 99% of the time clicbaits, especially for Benefits.

If you find a DWP or legit News source saying that, and actually giving details that make sense, please provide it.

Looking at this article as the bottom of the tabloid barrel, I will say that it resembles the procedure Jobcenters does anyway during the initial interview. I have seen the training documentation of the work coaches and it is nothing different from what goes on right now anyway.

You can read that here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/evaluation-of-the-personal-support-package/evaluation-of-the-personal-support-package

They just created another clickbait as "bring your friends too" to make money from the adds and monetised articles links that's all over the page.

In a nutshell, I call BS.

'Voluntary discussions' I do not believe for a minute!

Thank you. I guess whoever can mix and interact with people just got a huge headache. Meaning, mobility and physical ladies and gents, prepare yourselves.

It mentions work coaches but those claiming the old legacy ESA work coaches don’t even exist.

I’m the sort of person that won’t worry until I know I have something to worry about. Until that time I will put it to the back of my mind. This is the way I always deal with things like this, reviews included.

Adding: f t remains, its the same thing the Work Coach has been trained to do. So nobody should worry, just tell them you cant. Because if you present yourself willing to find a way to work, you get a flag for LCW at best, or asked to work now and stop your existing LCWRA/LCW.

Nothing new here. Just preparing the "no PIP, no LC*"

Exactly. My psychologist worked with me for nearly a year and the counsellor before that and they only got to the tip of my MH, which didn't even touch my physical disabilities. As I said I really don't want to scare monger, the only reason I found it was it was on my news feed on my phone. Funny though how the major news networks haven't mentioned anything Exactly why I hate the news they seemed to be controlled by the government for their propaganda.

For anyone who wants to read the Work Coach manual: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/403081/response/1002168/attach/6/HO%2005.01%20Work%20Coach%20Reference%20Guide.pdf

It is exactly what this new BS supposed to do. So nothing new.

But in the general climate of the Gov trying to shake up things, @poppy123456 is 100% right, why worry for something that hasn't happened yet.

Yes, no doubt use it for their manifesto when they are on the back bench, here's how we encourage/bully disabled people to get back to work, saving the country millions.  I read a posting on here that I found really disturbing, but I cant find it now. Some Tory MP said work frees you. I have heard a similar quote in the past which I also found repulsive

I for one am worried. I got LCWRA and PIP mainly on the social engagement part. Since then my mental health has deteriorated, so has my physical to some degree. Currently I'm receiving no support or help as transforming care seem unsure where to place me after getting kicked out by cmht. So think I am in a group they may be coming after.
Notice at the moment it all says 'voluntary'
The job centre did put a note in my journal last year inviting me in for a chat about 'how they could help me get my confidence back'
I wrote 'go away and leave me alone' and cmht sorted it then.
    Yes, I'm worried.

I would love to share that sentiment, but when it comes to my news feed on my phone and its already a pilot scheme, my severe anxiety sets in. I guess people cope with it in different ways.  I also guess I would rather me in the know that not, as if I am the know I can do something about it, like sign a petition and vote with my feet. I understand your sentiment too, not to worry until it happens, this is why I was reluctant to share the news, but it would be a dis-service not to.

I am the same as you, but I didn't get a notice, wouldn't even be able to go on my journal due to anxiety. I would get my MH nurse to sort it out or my carer, as my psychologist recently dropped me due to me moving out of the area. Them wanting the doctor to get social services involved with my MH and physical needs The last time I had a job, I sat there at home, at my desk and I couldn't stop crying, they demanded I go on the phones and I just cried and cried and rang my doctor who immediately signed me off. I got sacked for my MH and the email said it was due to all your ongoing health issues.  So if they forced me no doubt the same would happen again, although with my strong medication I wouldn't be able to concentrate for more than five minutes. I am inclined to say to put it in the back of my mind right now, I have too many health issues to cope with, especially when I have 20 anxiety attacks daily but its been noted.

Voluntary discussions at mandatory appointments (subject to sanction) is what the minister forgot to mention. UC itself has been a 10-year trial of pilot schemes with no risk assessment ever undertaken.

I cant use the phone but can go online. Cmht wanted to get social care for me, which I refused as I cant deal with people keep coming round here .
The big problem is they actually dont u understand each individuals problems with their named condition,  anxiety, PTSD, agoraphobia, whatever, is different simply because we are individuals! They, cmht or whoever, also have the one size fits all mentality.
Cmhts response to my agoraphobia, had for four years now. They said come into town, we'll meet you at Tesco, go in get a carton of milk, then come out once queued up and paid, and you can go home.
I cant go into town. Simple as that.
The people who are suppose to be helping us dont get it. And dont listen.

Your story sounds similar to mine, my psychologist wrote to my new doctor to get social services involved, but nothing has happened. I have Complex PTSD, severe anxiety, depression and agoraphobia now stemming from my anxiety. My psychologist tried to get me out to no avail, I didn't see my doctor in person for 2 years all done over the phone until I had to register with a new one and have bloods taken as my legs kept swelling up, my family came with me and I hid in the toilet until called.  I haven't been to the optician now for 3 years, I get my family to order glasses online, reading ones at 5.5 strength I have so many hospital appointments for my arthritis and Menieres Disease which keep getting pushed back as I can't get my head around going even with my family, just simple things my psychologist asked me to write down, for instance, to make a phone call, she had to break it down in steps due to my anxiety. Then I was advised to talk to imaginary people, for example, a caring person who would say you need to eat to feel better and your doctor's appointment is at 2 pm, so you need to break that down, what time your family will get out of your bed, what you will wear, what to do when you get to the doctors to cope with your stress, another imaginary person for when I feel suicidal who I can talk too and who will advise me not to be so hard on myself. The trouble is I couldn't concentrate enough to talk to them and felt too depressed to imagine the scenario and though I tried and tried, my head was elsewhere, just worrying, worrying, fleeting from worrying, to no self-worth, remembering the past and then becoming suicidal and it continues like that each and every day.

Actually, I told a lie, the doctor would ring me, as I couldn't even order my anti-depressants and would tell the counsellor then the psychologist I had run out but my anxiety wouldn't allow me to ring or reorder.  so letters were sent to the doctor to ring me. Then my family and friends had to get more involved with my care.
