Hi,
My PIP claim is being reviewed - I filled in the relevant review form with all details rather than just stating "no change". Provided consultant medical letters.
This morning Sunday (8.45am) i received a call from 0800 023 2635 the call was quick - The person didnt even confirm my DOB or address - just wanted confirmation of my GP Practice which i confirmed and said received report on 10th October. And just to confirm if i was in receipt of any other benefits. This was the only reason they called. Am bit worried - Is this normal? I am not sure what my GP would have wrote - is it a standard letter or template? Should i start preparing for MR - I am not sure if my GP understands rare autoimmune conditions but specialist letter listed all details and hospital plans. And the review form completed how the illness/disability affects on a daily basis.
I suppose i just need to wait.
Thanks
Naila

Sometimes they will ring if they have any questions to ask you, even on a Sunday as sometimes a decision maker works weekends. It's rare they contact anyone but seems like they do want to contact your GP for more information, which does sometimes happen.I don't think you need to prepare for an MR at this stage because you can't predict anything from this phone call. If the report has been returned then a decision can take up to 12 weeks after this.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

@poppy123456 thank you - I was suprised too. I dont really go to the GP albeit the consultant cc them into all letters. Would it be a standard letter or a list of questions.

It is usually a form they are sent.

@poppy123456 - my bad! i called the PIP line this morning and it was just to confirm GP details as i sent it as additional information after my review claim was filled in. The call happened so fast. Checked with my GP too they havent received anything. Although the PIP lady did say there is a 46 week back log on review claims and if i dont hear 35 days before my end date - the claim will be extended.
