World Kindness Day is coming up on Monday 13th November. With so many kind and helpful people on the community, I thought it would be nice to share some stories of kindness with each other.

So, what's the kindest thing someone has ever done for you?

It can be online or offline, big or small, anything that stuck out to you and made you feel special.

Was it a random act of kindness or did you know the person?

Do you think experiencing an act of kindness would make you more likely to do something kind to someone else in the future?

Would love to hear your thoughts! <3

Probably in 2019 the person who accepted my word against the DWPs when I put in a Mandatory Reconsideration for my PIP and it was awarded in my favour...

The decision meant that I could get a Motability car and be able to drive and go out and about as there is no way I could have funded this privately :)

This was a real blessing for my mental health

I wanted to buy the person a present but had no idea who they were :D

Aww @66Mustang, that's a shame you'll never be able to tell them, but hopefully they realise how much of an impact they have on others through their work.

That's lovely @woodbine! You must have something really special together <3

As a single mum i went through some of the most difficult times of my life when my children were younger. Sometimes i didn't have enough of money to even feed my children. I was walking about with shoes on that had holes in them and had no money to buy myself a new pair.

My dearest friend of 26 years and her husband gave me money most weeks so that i could buy some food. Bought me new shoes and clothes for my children. I had no family and they were the only ones i had to turn to. I really do not know what i would have done if i didn't have them. I will always be grateful for everything they did for me and my children.

I did repay them some of what they gave me when was awarded PIP 10 years ago but they wouldn't accept the whole amount. Thank you just wasn't enough.

Thanks so much for sharing, Poppy. That must have been a really tough time for you, it's so good to hear that you had such kind and supportive friends to help you through.

Few years ago my partner broke up with me, I was in a bad state, had a proper panic attack, landed in hospital. I was scared to go back home in case I will have another one, so rang my friend and she said come to our house. I went to her house, there was no talk from her and her husband about what happened, why, no mention of my partner. Just smiles and hugs, telling me you can sleep here, if you need anything, let us know. I slept like a baby, and I still remember that, and I will remember this forever. I am lucky to have good friends, and I wish you all the same:-)

I'm so glad your friends were there for you @Superbetty I'd say they handled that perfectly with you. <3

@66Mustang I will raise a glass to the unknown assessor who helped you so much.  :)

Poppy, it sounds like you also had some amazing support there. <3

@woodbine you've been happily married longer than some of my friends have been alive and I think that is absolutely beautiful. <3

A long time ago, I was stuck in Central London after an interview, I thought I'd taken enough cash for a return train ticket, but I hadn't or lost it. So I went into Barclays Bank asked to open up an account so I could get a return ticket home, I can't remember the amount. The Customer Service Adviser went off, she bought out her purse and handed me the cost of a train ticket. I was so embarrassed, but that is kindness.
