Dwp phone call

Hi everyone, just looking for some information and reassurance...I've been awaiting a pip review after sending in my review form in January. Over the last few months things have got even worse with my health problems, I'm on higher rate for both mobility and daily living anyway so didn't ring pip to add the details.
Anyways my pip was extended up to September 2024 because o review delays....but the DWP just rang me out of the blue.....said the wanted to check over a few things and ask a couple of questions. The dwp person also said they 'are ringing me to check a few things and that I don't need an assessment '. She double checked a few things about my mobility and vision issues day to day, and who 'cuts up my food and does my medication ' ?
I told her about losing consciousness a few months ago and being taken into hospital for a couple of nights...she said 'things obviously haven't got better and have got worse for you '. I will make a note and you will hear from us in the next week or so, no is assessment needed ! She was very professional, polite and to the point but it was all rather quick...
I'm very worried 😟
Is this a paper based assessment ?
Anyone else had a quick phonecall from the DWP and not the assessor ? I know of one lady on here who had a bad experience, would love some other people's experience.
Sorry for the ling winded question.
Rose.

For reviews your form is always sent to a decision maker first before being sent to the health assessment providers. From there they will look at your claim to decide if a decision can be made without having to send it accross to them. They may need to ring to ask some questions like they did here.Sounds like it's a paper based decision and you just need to wait for the decision letter.1

Thanks Poppy...I thought that was the case because even at the beginning of the call the lady stated -"this is not an assessment, you will not need an assessment , I just need to double check a few things"....hopefully the outcome will be ok. I will keep everyone posted on here.
BTW Poppy thankyou so much once again, you have been so helpful over the last few years with information etc . I really do appreciate it. Xxx0 -
That does sound very much like a paper-based assessment @pinkrose. Good luck with your outcome1

So does this mean you could have a paper based review without a call from a decision maker and actually know nothing about it ?0

A decision maker will just make the decision based on all the information they have.0
