Lcwra waiting on decision

So I've been perusing this website for a few weeks now and I've noticed most people claiming lcwra component have been getting their decisions within days of their assessments. I am aware that a decision can take up to 3 months, but I'm wondering if me being 3 weeks post assessment is a bad outlook? I've considered phoning UC but I doubt I'd get any information from them and I'm, more often than not, ignored on my journal. I'm on month 3 since I made my uc and lcwra claim if that means anything. Just wondering if I should be concerned or if I should attempt contacting uc? Or just sit and wait.

The time it takes for a decision to be made is no indication of what the decision is likely to be.

Yes, some people have decisions quite quickly for UC but some also wait quite a few weeks.

You are correct that ringing the helpline isn’t going to help you. Once a decision is made a letter will be uploaded onto your journal. It’s perfectly normal to be waiting this length of time. Nothing to be concerned about at all.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

It was 4 weeks and two days after my assessment before I got notified of the result (LCWRA), the whole process from them receiving my UC50 was 17 weeks and 3 days.

Just adding my experience, Handed my first fit note in on 12 july. I submitted the form in the beginning of  August 2023. Had my assessment on the 3rd of October and got awarded lcwra today. Just had 1 month backdated credited to account today and the regular payment is due Wednesday.

Hello @che123, welcome to the community :)

As others have mentioned, the timescales can be so different for each case and aren't necessarily a reflection of a good or bad result. The waiting is horrible, though!

Fingers crossed you get your result soon!

I didn't get lcwra, I got lcw, asked for an MR, no decision change. Now in the process of appeal and submitted copies of my recent claim to pip, acknowledging the two are different entities, but those forms better explain my condition and how things are continuing to go down hill for me. I had a letter from appeals saying that they've received my appeal and to make sure I send supporting evidence ASAP. They also stated in the letter that the dwp should have contacted me by letter with their response but I am yet to actually receive this and be able to respond.

HMCTS will give DWP a date to respond by. They don't always respond by that date, if they don't HMCTS will extend that date. They will eventually respond. Once they do respond you will receive that letter in with the "bundle" which contains everything you've sent to support your claim, including the UC50 form, assessment report and any other additional evidence you sent.

I received their response and they used my last failed pip claim as evidence to support their decision against lcwra. I can't see how the 2 are connected because they are independent benefits, but I've counteracted with a detailed response to everything I found in the report from lcw assessor that was false and missing information, and slapped in a copy of my current claim for pip so the two can be compared and show the deterioration I've gone through in the last 2 years since the failed claim for pip. It frustrates me and confuses me as to why they decided to use a failed pip claim from 2 years ago as evidence against me. I've received copies of everything I've sent to tribunals now and I'm just stuck on waiting now as it could be several months before a tribunal happens. I'm tired.
