So I had my WCA assessment today. I have my pip assessment on Wednesday. I’ve felt so anxious about it all it knocks me sick. Stayed up most nights trawling through this forum for hints tips advice. Have to say you guys have helped me prepare without knowing so much. So thanks
Call today lasted 1hr 20 mins. He was actually really lovely. It’s very stressful but he was slow and patient. Very thorough and I feel I did my best and can’t do anymore. I can’t help but wonder if my pip assessment is going to be similar?? Is this the case ? I know my descriptors are kind of different but feel it will be similar to what I’ve discussed today. How long will it take for a decision I know 8/12 weeks but seen most hear back sooner.

I have depression, arthritis in back, spondyolethesis and 2 major slipped discs in top of neck due to be operated on. I’m only 39 it’s wrecked my way of life tbh x
Thankyou from a very stressed anxious member. It’s a lot to deal with within 3 days xx

What questions they ask you during your PIP assessment will depend on how your conditions affect you. There will also be a standard set of questions they will ask. The assessment can last anywhere from 20 to 120 minutes, sometimes longer. Try to avoid answering any questions with just a yes or no and try to give as much detail as possible.Once the report is written and returned a decision can take up to 12 weeks. For your WCA again the timescales are the same. If you have access to a journal once the decision is made the letter will be uploaded onto there. Some have decisions quite quickly and others wait longer. It's no indication either way of what the decision may be.1

Thankyou @poppy123456 it’s been a stressful build up. I think in a way it’s probably best they’re close together as things are still fresh in my mind and it gets it all over with at the same time. I’ll now concentrate on reading up about the pip assessment again and make sure I am fully prepared. Praying for a good result however you just never know. Xx1

Looks like the lovely Poppy has answered your questions, but just wanted to pop in to say hello and welcome you to the community.
Sounds like you're already doing a great job of preparing. One thing that some people find helpful is to make some detailed notes about how your conditions affect you alongside the descriptors and keep them with you during the assessment.
The waiting can be tough but we're always here if you need to rant or ask any more questions.
Hope you get the result you need! Keep us updated0 -
So I had my assessment today. 1 hour 15 mins. It was pretty much every question asked again I again said my answers this time with even more descriptions than I wrote on forms. No particular tone from the assessor so can’t say if I did good or bad so to speak. I did answer very thoroughly so I tried my best. It’s been a draining week of searching forums and the not knowing. It’s done now I guess it’s all out of my hands. I still have not received the text to say dwp have recieved report. I thought that would be same day tbh. I’ll keep you updated thanks xx0

@parleigh21 Wow! I hope you got some rest after that. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!0

The report isn't always returned on the same day as the assessment. Sometimes it's the following day or a few days, potentially a week. Other times a lot longer if it's chosen for audit. If it has been it's nothing to worry about, it just means they are checking the assessor did their job correctly. The only issue with audits is it delays the report being returned, which then delays the decision making process.Having said that, they don't always text once the report is returned. Once it has been a decision on your PIP can take up to 12 weeks.1

Hi guys. Great news. Just to let you all know I passed my wca and been found to have LCWRA. I’m so relieved. Exactly one week today from assessment for results. Still awaiting outcome from PIP decision
if anyone could help to see if I’m owed any back pay that would be appreciated.First fit note handed in 17th June 2023. Assessment period is 26th to 25th. Many thanks xx1 -
Great news. Your waiting period will be June/July, July/Aug, Aug/Sept.. LCWRA starts from AP 26th Sept to 25th October and first payment will be 2nd November. This means they owe you 1 months LCWRA element and it will be paid as a separate payment to your usual monthly money. You need to check your next statement to see if the element is included. If you or a partner were receiving any earnings since you reported your health condition and you didn't previously have the work allowance, they will owe you some money from that too.1
