PIP TELEPHONE CONSULTATION

After dragging it for about one year they have decided they need to have a telephone consultation with me for my award review. This will take place on November 30th and I'm freaking out already. I'm also worried that my mobile phone will cut off in the middle of the call. Shall I call them and give them my landline? I'll be 65 a few days after the call and I've never felt so vulnerable like talking to a complete stranger over the phone. Any tips jut to ease my mind a little bit?

You can give them your LL number if you want to at the start of the call, or you can contact them before the assessment.

During the assessment please make sure you don't answer any questions with just a yes or no. Try to give as much detail as possible. If you kept a copy of the form you returned have a read of that before the assessment. Some people find it helpful to make some notes to refer to during the assessment.

Make sure you have a drink near to you for easy reach. The assessment can last anywhere from 20 to 120 minutes, sometimes longer.

Once the report is returned to DWP a decision can take up to 12 weeks.

Quick update...I just had my telephone consultation and the questions she asked me were exactly the same asked in the form. What's the point in that? Something escapes me. Now we wait 6 weeks for the decision letter and we'll see if I keep my 19 points and if not I'll take it to the tribunal again.

Oh what a pain @cat6873 I guess they were just making sure the information they have is correct?  I'm keeping everything crossed for you. :)

@Albus_Scope thanks! I think a lot of them are dizzier than we are because I left them my LL and she still called my mobile  :p

    Another stressful update from me…

Got a letter at the beginning of December saying I was awarded only 10 points for daily living and nothing for mobility.

I immediately put in a MR and at the beginning of March I got a text “We will look at your case by March 28th”.

I called them on April 3rd and was told the decision letter was posted to me dated March 19th.  I didn't receive anything so I was told they would send another one.

In the meantime I applied online for an appeal and told them the MR decision letter was in the post.

Went to see my doctor who supplied me with a new letter for the tribunal and 3 days later I got the MR decision letter.

Sent everything off to the tribunal on April 5th.

The tribunal told the DWP they had until May 21st to reply but, after they got my note, it was now to be on May 9th.

Today is May 15th and the DWP has yet to reply to the tribunal.

What do I do now? Do I wait for the tribunal to chase them?

    Thank you for a reply.

This happens so often it's almost like it's normal. HMCTS will extend the date. Before they respond they will review your claim. They will eventually respond but in the meantime there's nothing more you can do but wait.

    So it's finally over!

Just had a call from PIP and this lady told me she looked at all my paperwork again and said that it was all consistent with my previous claim. She saw my doctor's letter and the award the judge gave me in my last appeal. She said she doesn't want me to go through the tribunal again and she asked me if I was happy if she was to give me back enhanced daily living and standard mobility. I said of course! So she will cancel the tribunal and told me the award is for 10 years with a light touch in the end and to keep an eye on my bank account.

I've been crying with relief and thank you all for the kind replies in this journey and for the advice - especially poppy ❤️

That's fantastic news cat6873! I love hearing good news, especially at MR stage because very few decisions change at this stage. Am always happy to advise anyone I can.
