UC carers element

My dad applied for PIP in August and I was caring for him. I did not report this on UC as I was unsure if he would get PIP or not. I have a 2 year old child so never really spoke to my work coach.
He has now been awarded PIP and has received his entitlement letter. Would UC backdate the carers element to August?
Thank You

All you can do is report a change of circumstances, click caring for someone and report it this way. They after dig their heals in, in situations like this. It will be down to a decision maker to make the final decision.

One other thing, if your dad lives alone or treated as living alone and he's claiming either Income Related ESA/JSA, Income Support or pension credit then he will be entitled to Severe disability premium. If he's state pension age or above and not currently claiming pension credit, then the SDP may mean he'll now be entitled to PC. However, If you claim carers element for looking after him then this will prevent him from claiming it.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.

    Thanks for your reply Poppy.
I have reported in on my journal and asked for a backdate however did not expand. They stated that the CE is only payable from the start of the assessment period that you declare you’re a carer. I have wrote in that I am requesting a backdate as we have only just received the entitlement letter.
UC, PIP, JSA and ESA (Decisions and Appeals) Regs 2013 Schedule 1 Part 4 Reg 31(2)(a) states the carer element is payable from first AP where entitlement arose if it is a family member.

He is currently in receipt of UC. He is waiting for him WCA.

Thanks. Family members mean people you live with. All you can do is wait for a decision.
