Discretionary housing payment processing time

Hiya, quick question..
I recently applied for a discretionary housing payment which I received a email last Friday saying I have been awarded a single payment to help clear my rent arrears, I was just wondering if anyone knows how long it will take to receive the payment? As today I've had another letter regarding my arrears and am desperately wanting to get them sorted and paid off.. I struggle with my anxiety so any info about when I might receive the payment will be greatly appreciated. Hate having these arrears looming over me, btw the arrears aren't my fault they are due to a miscommunication when changing my housing benefit over as I've recently moved properties.
Thanks in advance Annie x

Each local authority is different so it's quite difficult to answer exactly when you will receive it, however, if it's sent via BACS then you should expect to receive the payment within 3-5 working days, my best guess being around Wednesday this week. Good luck with everything including the house move and I hope you manage to settle in well.

The payment may not be made to you, it could be paid directly to your LL, if they pay your rent directly to them.

I have received one before in 2017 when my place of work closed and I started claiming housing benefit and the same happened there was a delay in my housing benefit starting back then I had my rent paid directly to my LL but I received the DHP but cannot remember how long it took. Also back in 2017 my mental health wasn't in the mess it's now in.. so I'm just presuming I may receive it again as looking back at the email I received in 2017 it is more or less the same as the one I got last Friday,.. sorry if I'm blabbing on and not making much sense Im stressing myself out. Urghhh I hate this damn anxiety. I would prefer it to be paid to my LL but if it isn't I'm just wondering on a time scale to me recieving it to get my arrears paid. X

It does vary a lot depending on the local authority I'm afraid, but fingers crossed that it comes through for you soon. I know it won't be an easy wait, but hopefully not too long. I hope you're settling in well at your new place :)

If it's paid to you then only your LA can give you that timescale.
