Sent in PIP review a day or two late - What to expect?

Hi,
I act as an Appointee for my Mum. Her review was received about a month ago and she sent me a message saying 'a brown envelope addressed to you has arrived here' with a sad face. For two weeks she did not open it. I told her after two weeks to open it, and saw it was the review.
She was aghast and shocked she only had until the 10th. I was planning on getting evidence for the review, so at this time organised her getting a new passport.
My Mum did not send me a picture of the form about stopping benefits, I had read online about needing more time and did not know that it was 'so serious' if it was after the date you sent it in. She is on a high rate for both, been ill the last month, as have I. I have Autism and ADHD - I was completely caught out by the 10th being a Sunday too.
Obviously I'm going to make a phone call first thing tomorrow, but I have read that a computer automatically cancels her claim. What can I brace myself for and do you have any advice?
- This may seem like I've failed in my duties for her PIP, and I feel like that - but I've done a lot of organisation of her actual healthcare this month, my own conditions make it hard, I'm writing a dissertation at university and it's all been extremely hard to organise. I'm dreading, especially this time of year, if she is suddenly £-700. She does not work.
Thanks

If you are your mums appointee is there any reason why the letter didn't go to your address, rather than your mums? Ideally it should go to your address.I don't understand the relevance with a passport and her review? You don't need a passport for this.Yes, you can ring them to ask for extra time so if you do that first thing tomorrow when they open at 9am then hopefully, it will be fine and her PIP won't stop.0

I'm a University student and divide my time. Had I seen the form and bit about 'it must be sent in by 10th' then I would have been a lot more 'on it'. I feel awfully bad and sick to my stomach.
Regarding the passport, my hope was to get evidence through SAR for the review once I rang and asked for more time.0 -
Do you know who to ask for? Is it better to try and get to the case manager first of in the phone call?0

You don't need to a case manager. Just ring the helpline and ask for extra time to return the form. As you pointed out the 10th is a Sunday so it's a little odd why they've asked for it to be returned by today. They will give an extra 2 weeks, if it's been returned then that should be plently of time for them to receive it.

Do you know if it is 8am or 9am they open (Seems a little unclear upon googling and on here?)
Thank you for your help - I am praying they don't close her case.0 -
It's highly unlikely they will "close" her PIP claim. It's 9am for PIP as advised in my previous comment. See link. https://www.gov.uk/disability-benefits-helpline
